Bellflower Pink Octopus

Bellflower Pink Octopus, Campanula 'Pink Octopus' PPAF, displays Japanese lantern buds which open to striking pink, octopus like flowers! This long blooming beauty is packed with flower power. Each flower stem can have over 50 octopus blooms that dance over the deeply cut foliage. Campanula 'Pink Octopus' flowers weep down from the upright flowering branches above strong, deeply cut foliage. This perennial is quite long blooming, particularly if the flowers are deadheaded promptly. It needs a period of dormancy before flowering, but will return for many years to amaze guests and inspire double takes in garden and containers. Campanula grows best in fertile soil with a neutral to alkaline pH. Lime can be added to the soil to obtain these conditions. Keep the soil moist but make sure it is well drained. This bellflower will grow in either full sun or partial shade, though some shade is recommended in areas with very hot summers. Cutting the plants back hard after flowering will keep them more compact, and may also result in a second flush of blooms.
