The Christmas Rose, Helleborus, is a colorful mixture of helleborus producing clusters of 2 6 cup shaped flowers, about 2 wide. Blooms in early spring. Height 12 18. Winter to early spring, large flowers rise above masses of glossy dark, leather like leaves. These hardy, easy to grow perennials thrive in a partially sunny to full shade locations and are great companions to Hosta. They are insectdisease resistant and tolerant of heat and humidity.Helleborus are relatively care free plants. As with many ornamental perennials, adequate soil preparation is the key to long term health and vigor. Helleborus are deep rooted, stout plants, and are well known for their thick, shiny green foliage.
