Columbine Clementine Salmon Rose, Aquilegia vulgaris 'Clementine Salmon Rose', produces a large bouquet of spurless flowers that resemble a small double flowering clematis. They face upward for best display and they make excellent cut flowers. The flowers of Aquilegia 'Clementine Salmon Rose' start off a lovely shade of salmon rose, then begin to take on shades of lavender purple as they age, starting at the tips of the flower petals. The multi colored effect is truly beautiful! The spectacular colors are superb near the front of beds and borders. They can be used individually in small clumps, or massed together in combined groupings to create a stunning explosion of extended color. Clementine Salmon Rose is easily grown in average, medium, well drained soil in full sun to part shade. Tolerates wide range of soils except heavy, poorly drained ones. Prefers rich, moist soils with light to moderate shade. Remove flowering stems after bloom to encourage additional bloom. Keep soils uniformly moist after bloom to prolong attractive foliage appearance. When foliage depreciates, plants may be cut to the ground.
