Columbine Double Winky Blue White

Columbine Double Winky Blue White Aquilegia vulgaris 'Double Winky Blue White', is a novelty variety of columbines with its unique double flowers. The base of the flower petals and the short spurs are dark blue which fades to pure white at the top of each petal. The exquisite flowers of 'Winky Double Blue White' are presented in a bouquet atop the nicely mounded foliage and face upward for best display. Looks lovely in a mixed container with other early summer bloomers! The spectacular colors are superb near the front of beds and borders. They can be used individually in small clumps, or massed together in combined groupings to create a stunning explosion of extended color. Resistant to deer and rabbits. 'Double Winky Blue White' is easily grown in average, medium, well drained soil in full sun to part shade. Tolerates wide range of soils except heavy, poorly drained ones. Prefers rich, moist soils with light to moderate shade. Remove flowering stems after bloom to encourage additional bloom. Keep soils uniformly moist after bloom to prolong attractive foliage appearance. When foliage depreciates, plants may be cut to the ground.
