Stormy Seas Coral Bells, Heuchera 'Stormy Seas', has magnificently ruffled, somewhat glossy leaves that are maroon purple when young, aging to bronze green with bright purple undersides. Cream colored flowers appear on 3 foot tall, dark purple scapes from late spring to early summer. ‘Stormy Seas' has a fantastic compact habit and displays extreme vigor. It is considered to be the best landscape heuchera. Best grown in organically rich, humusy, medium moisture, well drained soils in full sun to part shade. It does well in full sun in the northern part of its range. 'Stormy Seas' is excellent for the shady border in hotter areas. It is a natural for rock garden, woodland paths, companion plants for hosta, ferns and strawberry begonia, iris, lilies, and peonies. Since it is low growing perennial with a compact form, it will make an attractive ground cover.
