Dianthus Pizzazz Pink

Dianthus Pizzazz Pink, Dianthus 'Pizzazz Pink', is a hot plant from Proven Winners that offers a great scent, attracts butterflies, and makes for a wonderful cut flower. Dianthus Pizzazz Pink has a beautiful medium pink color. Dianthus will bloom from mid summer to early fall. In order for a longer bloom time, deadhead the blooms continuously throughout the summer. It intermingles well with other plants to fill in the middle ground of a combination so makes a good landscape plant. Deadheading is not necessary and it is heat tolerant. Dianthus needs a sunny site with well drained soil, but will tolerate some shade in the afternoon and humidity. These fragrant, spicy dove like flowers look wonderful as a border plant, rock gardens, along walks or paths, for edging and a definite in cottage gardens. This plant can be a perennial in zones 9 11. In zones 3 8 it is an annual only.
