Cherry Red Organic Potato has small to medium sized tubers, bright medium to dark red skin and attractive white flesh. This one is always a good producer and a heavy setter with a nest of potatoes, tightly clustered in one place. The potato plants are medium, semi erect, have stems that are moderately pigmented, and have straight single wings with nodes moderately swollen. Cherry Red consistently sets 8 to 9 tubers per plant and are rather shallow in the hill. Tuberization occurs early and tubers bulk at a very rapid rate early in the season. Cherry Red has good storability with few problems and minimal sprouting. Don't refrigerate them doing so converts some of the potato's starch to sugar. And don't expose them to direct sunlight, which turns them green and makes them bitter. They will keep about a one to two weeks at room temperature and for several weeks at 45 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
