The Russet Norkotah Organic Heirloom potato is smooth, has a red brown skin with shallow eyes, and its flesh is white. It out produces other russets in percentage of uniform potatoes. Russet Norkotah is excellent for baking, frying or boiling. Its primary use is for the fresh market, and it is particularly suited for baking. It is widely adapted in North America. This potato is good for a small garden, it provides dependable yields, keeps well, and is scab resistant. This plant is fast emerging with a medium, slightly upright vine and white flowers it has a determinate growth habit with a shallow, concentrated root system. This cultivar is not considered a long term storage potato. It should be marketed by mid March because tuber dehydration can result in pressure bruises and blackspot development.
