'Silver Carpet' is deer resistant and also can handle light foot traffic. 'Silver Carpet' is a spreading, mat like perennial that is perfect for the rock garden, borders, or carpeting any sunny spots. Cerastium tomentosum tolerates drought and will grow in dry to moist soils. Suitable soil is well drained, loamy or sandy with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH. Divide in spring or fall if necessary. Trim plant back after flowering to keep it neat and compact. This plant can also become invasive, so it is recommended to shear it back after flowering.
