Tyee F 1 Spinach is a highly recommended slow bolting variety. It produces dark green savoyed leaves that stand upright and stay cleaner. Tyee F 1 is uniform and good tasting a perfect summer variety for the market farmer and home gardener. It can also be planted in the fall for first spring salads. The medium green, savoyed leaves grow quickly and are extremely vigorous. Since the stems are upright, they keep the tender leaves off the ground and this makes for easy harvest. Spinach will germinate in soils as cold as 35 degrees. It is best planted in early spring or in the fall before the ground freezes. Pick early and maintain soil moisture to prevent early bolting. Sow 14 inch deep and 1 inch apart in rows 12 18 inches apart. Thin plants to 3 inches with 4 inch spacing.
