Solanum Orange Blossom USDA Organic Tomato, Solanum lycopersicum 'Orange Blossom Tomato', is a very good early orange tomato. The fruit is medium firm, globe shaped and average 6 7 oz. 'Orange Blossom' texture is pleasant and the mild flavor is balanced with a little acidity. Orange tomatoes tend to be much higher in Vitamin C and Beta Carotenes than their yellow counterparts. Tomatoes should be planted outside after the last average frost date. In warm winterhot summer areas, tomatoes can be planted in early fall for winter harvest. Tomatoes prefer well drained soil that is high in organic matter. Tomatoes need at least 1 inch of water a week. Soak to depth of 6 to 10 inches when watering. They need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. If you are growing tomatoes in a pot, use plastic because it prevents evaporation and afternoon wilts.
