Tulip Double Early Peach Melba

The Tulip 'Peach Melba', Tulipa double early 'Peach Melba', is a Double Early Tulip that is as tempting as the dessert it's named after. It has pink outer petals touched with a flare of green surrounded peachy apricot center petals. The early tulips tend to be short, sturdy, and wind resistant. Their brilliant flower colors are particularly long lasting and their short, sturdy stems make them ideal for growing in windy or exposed locations.As their name implies, double early tulips bloom early in the season with long lasting, rose like double flowers which open flat in the full sun. It is advisable not to plant tulips in the same location in the garden year after year. If possible, plant in a somewhat sheltered location. Tulips are excellent for mass planting, rock gardens, containers and borders. Double Early Tulips all have more than the normal six petals. Some have so many petals that they look more like peonies than tulips. They don't come in as wide a selection of colors as some other types of tulips, but on sunny days, when they are completely open, the blossoms can be as wide as 4 10 cm across!
