Columbine Winky Double Red White, Aquilegia x hybrida 'Winky Double Red White', is a novelty variety of columbines with its unique double flowers. An amazing combination of red and white flowers that draw immediate attention and are reminiscent of holiday candy canes planted in the garden! The base of the flower petals and the short spurs are wine red which fades to pure white at the top of each petal. 'Winky Double Red White' has loads of upward facing blooms in late spring through early summer! They can be used individually in small clumps, or massed together in combined groupings to create a stunning explosion of extended color. 'Winky Double Red White' is also resistant to deer and rabbits. 'Winky Double Red White' is easily grown in average, medium, well drained soil in full sun to part shade. Tolerates wide range of soils except heavy, poorly drained ones. Prefers rich, moist soils with light to moderate shade. Remove flowering stems after bloom to encourage additional bloom. Keep soils uniformly moist after bloom to prolong attractive foliage appearance. When foliage depreciates, plants may be cut to the ground.
