The Alexander Pink Lilac, Syringa x prestoniae 'Alexander Pink', is a nice, bright pink late blooming Canadian Lilac. It is very similar in habit to ‘Royalty’ Lilac. A vigorous, non suckering lilac, 'Alexander Pink' is extremely hardy 45° below zero. It needs good drainage and does best in full sun. Promptly remove faded flower panicles before seeds set, since this will increase bloom for the following year. Prune as needed immediately after flowering. Easily grown in average, medium, well drained soil in full sun. Tolerates light shade, but best bloom quality and disease resistance occur in full sun. 'Alexander Pink' prefers rich, moist, neutral soils.
