Peruvian Lily Glory of the Andes, Alstroemeria 'Glory of the Andes', is a lovely variegated form of Alstroemeria 'Sweet Laura' PP10,030, with green leaves outlined in creamy yellow. The exotic yellow flowers of 'Glory of the Andes' are spotted and brushed with mahogany red. Even when it's not in flower, 'Glory of the Andes' provides great foliage interest in the garden. Very fragrant and excellent in cut arrangements! Hardy to zone 6. Alstroemeria prefers to be grown in evenly moist, well drained, rich humus, but it will tolerate drier soils. Choose a sheltered site in either full sun or partial shade, preferably at the base of a south or west facing wall. Mulch with organic material in the winter to prevent frost heaving.
